Lincoln Heights  —  Police are searching for the armed suspects involved in an attempted street robbery Sunday night.

The incident happened about 11:30 p.m. when two men approached the two victims near the corner of Barbee and Gates streets, police said.

The suspects pointed handguns at the victims and demanded their property before fleeing in a black, 4-door sedan, said Sgt. Ernesto De Alba with LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division.  However, no property was taken during the attempted robbery.

One of the suspects is described as a Latino man, 20- to 25-years-old. The suspect’s vehicle may have had paper plates, De Alba said.
