Ex-boyfriend believed involved in El Sereno car-to-car shooting

Car-to-car shooting took place near Soto and Huntington drive

El Sereno  — A woman and her new boyfriend were being followed by her ex when a car-to-car shooting involving a third vehicle took place Thursday night, police said.

The incident happened at about 9 p.m. when the couple were driving near Huntington Drive and Soto Street, said Sgt. E. Yerkey with LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division.

They were being pursued by the woman’s ex-boyfriend when another car pulled up behind the ex’s car, Yerkey said.

The couple heard gunshots and saw a gun being pointed out of the third car’s window before it sped off in an unknown direction, said Yerkey. Police suspect that the ex-boyfriend, a known gang member, was involved in the shooting but did not provide additional details.

There is no suspect description at this time.

  1. Advice to new boyfriend: Get a new girlfriend. This is just an example of the future. Not worth it.
