Police release video of shooting outside Silver Lake nightclub

Video of shooting outside Silver Lake nightclub

Silver Lake   —  Police today are asking the public to help find the suspect who shot a man outside the Los Globos nightclub last month and then fled in a Range Rover.

A surveillance video released by police shows the suspect taking a gun out of his waistband and then firing at another man standing on the sidewalk outside the club in the 3000 block of Sunset Boulevard. The shooter then gets into a dark colored, 4-door Range Rover that drives away eastbound.

The shooting in the early morning hours of Feb. 2 took place following an argument inside the club that prompted the security guard to remove the suspect and another man from the building, police said. The suspect became “enraged” and then shot the other man, police said. The victim has since been released from the hospital.

The suspect is described as a 35-year-old male Asian. He stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Rampart Area Gang Detectives at (213) 484-3660. During non-business hours or on the weekends, calls should be directed to

1-877-LAPD-24-7 (877-527-3247). Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).

  1. What a coward.

  2. I believe this should say the car drive off eastbound. Traffic flows east on this side of sunset and Los globos is on the south side of sunset.

  3. I really don’t care…much rather the police spend time, resources on two rapes that have occurred the last two months, but which we hear nothing about.

  4. So anyone with a gun can go and party at Los Globos? Jeez.

  5. Mr. Sacapuntas for you Baby

shouldn’t this be the easiest crime to solve ever? The camera shows clearly what him, his friend, the getaway car looks like. Plus, since the argument began inside the club, he probably bought a drink, or many drinks. Can’t they run the names of all card purchasers against dmv records to obtain drivers license data, than narrow down the matches to Asian males with his height and build? Are we not there yet? It’s scary what storing data can do but this is one of those instances where it would actually do some good :/

    • Mr. Sacapuntas for you Baby,

You ever consider detective work, because DING DING DING baby! They truly ought to be able to close the books on this case if they follow your lead. Seriously.
