Historic Filipinotown — Temple Street was shut down this morning as firefighters battled a blaze that broke out in a machine shop.
It took about half an hour for fire crews to extinguish the fire, which was reported at 5:23 AM in a one-story commercial building near the corner of Temple and Parkman Avenue, said the L.A. Fire Department.
There were no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
