Silver Lake   —  Firefighters helped bring an adult woman to shore after she was seen in the middle of the Silver Lake Reservoir this afternoon, according to the L.A. Fire Department.

LAFD spokesman Margaret Stewart had no further information about the incident, including the woman’s condition.

It’s not clear what the woman was doing in the reservoir, which is off limits to the public and surrounded by chain link fencing.

An Instagram user posted a video of the woman hanging on to a life preserver as she was being brought to the concrete banks of the reservoir near West Silver Lake Drive and Moreno Street.

One reader who lives near the reservoir said a helicopter hovered low over the reservoir and appeared to be guiding her to shore. Several emergency vehicles were parked on the perimeter road on the west side of the reservoir, she said.

“I couldn’t hear if they were issuing orders to her from above,” said the resident. “But the drama is over now and everyone is going home.”
