Transient suspected of rape at East Hollywood Metro Red Line station

 — Police released a photo and drawing of a man suspected of a rape  last week at the Metro Red Line station at Sunset Boulevard and Vermont Avenue.

The suspect, who police said is a transient who frequents Metro station, lured the victim into a secluded, emergency exit Metro stairwell after asking for directions. The victim was strangled, punched and raped during the attack at about 6 pm on March 14, said the LAPD Northeast Division in a statement.

The suspect is described as an African-American male with brown eyes who stands between 5′-7″ to 5′-10″ inches tall; weighs about 165 pounds to 180 pounds. He has a shaved head, wears an earring on his right ear, has a 2- inch to 3- inch scar on his left forearm and was wearing all dark clothing.
