5 yoga and meditation events, from a relaxing sound bath in Eagle Rock to an intense Echo Park Lake yoga workout

There is always a variety of yoga and meditation classes to fit every personal need on the Eastside. Below is a range of yogi type activities happening in the next few days.

Pop Up Yoga and Train Class in Echo Park

Enjoy a hybrid yoga and interval weight training/cardio class at Echo Park Lake. Modo Yoga LA and Pharos Athletic Club joined forces to bring the community an exciting, challenging class for all levels. This pop up workout is at 10 a.m. on October 27 and it meets at the dock. Yoga for Outdoor Aficionados at the Audubon Center

On Saturday, November 3rd a REI yoga instructor will teach a class designed to enhance outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing and snowboarding. The class will target areas in the body that get easily injured or tight. All levels are welcome. A parent or guardian must accompany participants under 18. Go here for details

Yoga en Español at the Edendale Library

The Edendale Branch Library hosts a free yoga class in Spanish on Wednesday October 31 from 6:30 p.m.– 7:30 p.m., for those more comfortable learning in Spanish. This ongoing class teaches the basics and also guides you to breathe to relieve stress. Bring water, comfortable clothes and your yoga mat. Go here for details

Guided Meditation at People’s Yoga

People’s Yoga in East Los Angeles presents a 1-hour workshop on mindfulness meditation. The October 28th session will focus on mindfulness of the body. It’s suitable for all levels, a $10 donation is suggested at the door, but no one is turned away if you can’t donate that much. Meditation is from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Go here for details

Gongplay Soundbath event in Eagle Rock

Experience the sounds of 11 gongs and 12 crystal, singing bowls aimed to relax the body and mind. The sound vibrations should help you get into a present, more relaxed state. The event is on Tuesday, October 30th from 7 – 8 p.m. Go here for details
