New 6th Street bridge making its way through Boyle Heights

This aerial shot gives you an idea of the massive size of the 6th Street Bridge construction project through Boyle Heights. That's the 101 Freeway at the bottom and the L.A. River channel at the top. The new structure will replace the old viaduct that connected Boyle Heights and Downtown. But like many large construction projects (and even many small ones), this bridge is running behind schedule and not expected to be completed until early 2022, says Curbed LA.
