An accused car burglar has probably disappointed his mother

LAPD officers arrested an Echo Park man last month suspected of breaking into 16 cars in a single day only to see him released from jail after his mother posted $50,000 bail. Apparently that man was not satisfied with 16 car break-ins, said Capt. William Murphy in an update in this month’s Northeast Newsletter:

“Our undercover officers actually arrested him hours
after he was released with property from additional victims. He was brought back before the judge who imposed a $400,000 bail. Mommy could not bail him out of this amount!”

Auto-related crime accounted for more than 50% of all reported crime in the Northeast Division last year, according to Murphy, who provided an annual review of crime stats in the same newsletter.
