Police have closed down a section of Temple Street west of Beaudry Avenue this afternoon as they search for a suspect believed connected to a shooting.

LAPD spokesman Drake Madison said a male suspect dressed in black was seen running westbound on Temple following the shooting, which was reported at 4:12 pm.

One person was shot and taken to a hospital. But Madison said he did not have any information about the victim’s condition.

Eastsider readers in Angeleno Heights reported hearing gunfire and then sirens.

Update @ 7:02 pm: The search was called after no suspect was found, Madison said. The shooting victim is expected to survive. No other details were available at this time.
