Police shut down Eagle Rock streets as they search for suspect [updated]

Eagle Rock — Police have blocked off several streets this afternoon as they search for a man believed to have a warrant,  said the LAPD.

The foot pursuit of the man began near Eagle Rock Boulevard and Norwalk Street, said LAPD spokesman Luis Garcia.  The suspect is described as an adult white male wearing a blue shirt and khaki shorts.

One reader said there was a major police presence on Eagle Rock Boulevard, with officers posted on the scene and several streets closed.

The Occidental, the Occidental College news site,  said on Twitter that police had established a perimeter including Westdale and Ridgeview and thataa  K-9 unit has been sent up Ridgeview. Students were being advised to stay away from the area.

Update @ 3:22 pm: Police have apprehended the suspect, reports The Occidental.
