Chase: A pursuit of an SUV that began in the Newhall area ended when the driver pulled off the southbound 5 Freeway in Los Feliz and drove into the parking garage of a Riverside Drive apartment building. Authorities apprehended one woman who said she was sleeping in the vehicle. ABC7 & KTLA

Tire Slashings: Police took a suspect into custody in connection with the slashing of tires on more than 30  vehicles in the 300 block of N. Breed Street in Boyle Heights. ABC7

RIP: Robert Winter, the former Occidental College professor who co-authored “An Architectural Guidebook to Los Angeles,”  died this past weekend at age 94, according to the Eagle Rock college.  Winter made an appearance at the college in December during a book launch for the sixth edition of the guidebook.
