Highland Park  — A fire that apparently began on a front porch tonight spread into a home and attic before being knocked down by firefighters, said the L.A. Fire Department.

The fire, which was reported at 8:41 pm in the 6600 block of Figueroa Street, was extinguished in less than 20 minutes, according to preliminary information from LAFD.

There were no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
