Glassell Park — Several persons were evaluated by paramedics this afternoon after a strong smell at the Goodwill Store and & Cafe prompted workers and customers to leave the building, said the L.A. Fire Department.

The six persons with what were described as minor medical complaints turned down transport to a medical facility, said LAFD.

Firefighters and hazardous material specialists were called to the store on San Fernando Road near Fletcher Drive at about 1 pm after what was described as a “nuisance smell” forced customers and workers to evacuate the large building on their own, said LAFD.

The source of the smell was not found.
