East Hollywood  —  One person was rescued from an early morning house fire in the 1000 block of N. New Hampshire Avenue near L.A. City College, said the L.A. Fire Department.

The fire, which began at about 1 am, spread through trough the second floor and a converted attic. It took 92 firefighters more than half an hour to knockdown the blaze.

CBS2 said the 13 people living in what was an apparent boarding house have been displaced by the blaze.

At least one person was rescued from the structure, according to preliminary information from the LAFD. A 36-year-old man was transported in fair condition to a hospital after being exposed to smoke.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
