Police make second arrest in fatal Echo Park shooting

The LAPD has arrested the second of three suspects who are believed to be involved in the May 7 killing of Michael David, a 30-year-old Echo Park resident who was shot on Sunset Boulevard while being chased by his assailants.  Hakop Sardaryan, 21, of Los Angeles, was booked for murder on August 3 at the Metropolitan Detention Center downtown, said Lt. Wes Buhrmester with the Rampart Division.  His bail is set at $2 million.  “His specific role in the crime is not being made public at this time, as the investigation is ongoing,” Buhrmester said.

Online prison records show that Sardaryan was arrested last month in Las Vegas. “He was located in Las Vegas, and their police picked him up,” said Buhrmester.  “We went and got him.”

A few days after David, who worked at the Silver Lake Trader Joe’s, was fatally shot, police arrested one suspect, 23-year-old Jeffrey Cardona, who has been charged with murder. But homicide detectives are not certain he was the shooter.
