Bloom
Nov. 19 – April 2012 | Silver Lake
“Bloom will be one of our most bold installations to date. The shiny thermo-bimetallic ‘flower’ will change shape throughout the course of the day as it’s ‘petals’ react to the heat of the sun. The dynamic monocoque structure is composed of over 14,000 laser-cut custom-fabricated parts arranged in a self-organizing, cellular panel system with a kinetic potential without the need of a power source or any mechanical parts.”
