The school board election is very important and can really change the way schools are run. You are probably already aware, there are 3 candidates and received tons of mailers from 2 of them. That is because CCSA (CA Charter School Association) and UTLA are funding them, Ref Rodriguez and Bennett Kayser, respectively. Since they are affiliated and supported by these, the money trail will follow them into the board room, making their decisions not in the interests of families, but their organizations. The 3rd candidate is Andrew Thomas. I met him, read up on him, and watched the debates. He raised his own money and he is truly representing families with no one to answer to. He lives in the area and has kids at Marshall. I just wanted to share this info and send this link to the article in the LA Times which explains it much better. Also, if you are still unsure, you can watch the debates for yourself. No matter what, I hope you vote today! They are expecting 13% turnout and even less voters vote for school board. Please spread the word! Thank you!!
